Quem Somos

ciao, I just discovered your site and I really like it. I totally share the belief that better to turn off Tv and to go outside playing in a playground and the fact that when you travel with kids in tow play areas could be great solutions to let children play and parents rest. In my country (Italy) there are no information about playgrounds so I’ve strated to colect them here http://www.playgroundaroundthecorner.com
Unfortunatly not the playgrounds are worthy of note, many of them are anonymous and bed maintained but I’m trying to tell in an objective way as they really are.
I would love to know what you think about it. Ciao
Mary
Ciao Mary!
It is a funny coincidence for you to cwrite this comment. We (Rodrigo, Veronica and our daughter Alice) are moving to Italy in october this year.
We might move to Bologna but we still don’t know exactly where we will live. I’m half italian but I don’t speak Italian properly. I used to speak with my grandma only when I was a kid and she spoke a dialet from Porreta Therme. That’s one of the reasons I want to live in Italy for a while. I love Italy! I want my daughter to speak italian properly as well…
Regarding the playgrounds, we are having a similar problem with structure in Brazil. It’s so hard to find decent public space and you cannot put on the website “This place is horrible!”. I think I’ll add a rating system to the website. Some thing like:
Fun Factor: ( 0 to 5 Stars)
Conservation / Infrastructure: (0 to 5tars)
I’ve been think about raising money online to help building playgrounds or even get people together to actually build playground…
There’s a nice canadian blog about playgrounds with loads of examples about hand made playgrounds: http://playgroundology.wordpress.com/
I’ll have a look on your blog later this week
Best,
Rodrigo
ciao Rodrigo, I think that a ratying system could be a very good idea to explain how the play area is without say it directly. In my blog I try to give very objective descriptions about the playgrounds I visit because I hope that criticism could throw light on these areas too often neglected (in Italy). I found lovely playgrounds but also play areas not worthy of mention. I spoke about Bologna in my blog and my judgment for its playgrounds is not very positive. But the city is beautiful, I love it. I will look at your site for my next trips with kids in tow(I can’t follow your blog because I don’t understand the language) and when you are in Italy tell me something if you want. I live not far from Porretta Terme, and I love Emilia (my land).
ciao!!
Mary
